Privacy and cookies
LoopAndGrid.com is a free puzzle site. You do not need an account. This page covers what stays on your device, what optional analytics we use, and how to switch them off.
The short version
- Your puzzles, Daily streak, theme, and language live in your browser. We never ask you to sign in.
- If you allow it, we use Google Analytics and PostHog to see rough traffic and which puzzles people finish. You can play with those turned off.
- We do not sell personal information.
- In the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland we ask before loading optional analytics. Elsewhere they can load by default, and you can still turn them off any time.
What stays on your device
We save the following details in your browser so you can continue where you left off:
- The puzzle you were mid-way through, so you do not lose progress
- Daily Challenge history and streaks
- Which practice boards you have already seen
- Light or night mode, and language choice
- Your answer on the small post-win fairness survey, if you leave one
- Whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies
Clear site data in the browser and that local data goes away. If you send feedback by email, the pre-filled message can include simple puzzle context (game, difficulty, screen size). That only leaves your device if you send the message.
Optional analytics
When analytics are allowed, two tools may load:
- Google Analytics for page views and basic traffic numbers.
- PostHog for a few product events, like finishing a puzzle, sharing a result, or using the feedback links. We do not turn on session recording or click-by-click capture.
Those events can mention things like game type, difficulty, and whether it was a Daily puzzle. We use that to understand how the site is used and to improve the puzzles. We do not sell that data.
When we ask, and when we do not
Our host, Cloudflare, tells us which country a visitor is connecting from. We only use that to decide whether to show a cookie prompt.
- EU, EEA, UK, Switzerland: optional analytics stay off until you accept. Reject and the site still works; we just skip those scripts.
- Other places: analytics may load by default. Use Cookies in the footer (or Cookie settings above) to change your choice.
- If we cannot tell the country, we ask first, the same as in the EU.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat optional analytics as off unless you later turn them on yourself.
California
We do not sell personal information. You can turn off analytics from Cookies in the footer, or by sending a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser. If we add another optional tool, we will describe it on this page.
Cookies and similar storage
- Needed for the site: local puzzle saves, Daily data, theme, language, and your cookie choice.
- Analytics (optional): Google Analytics and PostHog storage, only if your preference allows it.
The optional toggle currently covers analytics only. We will list any other optional cookies here before using them.
Cloudflare may also use cookies for security and hosting. That is part of how the site is delivered, separate from our product analytics.
