Printable Boxes
Printable Boxes puzzles
Boxes asks you to divide a grid into rectangles. Each rectangle has exactly one clue, and that number is the size of the rectangle.
Drawing rectangles
- Light pencil lines are easy to erase and redraw.
- Write a small check beside a clue after its rectangle is placed.
- Count rows and columns when checking a larger area.
How to play
Divide the whole grid into rectangles. Every rectangle has exactly one clue, and that rectangle's size must match the clue. The rectangles cover the grid with no gaps or overlaps.
For a longer walkthrough, see the Boxes rules page.
Comparing rectangle choices
Choose one clue and list every rectangle shape with that area. Then ask which positions would cover another clue. Hand out student sheets without the answer key. More Boxes boards are available at LoopAndGrid.com after class.
